Many of you know and love Jenni Radosevich’s blog I Spy DIY so you’ll be thrilled to know she’s got a book coming out. I played around with Jenni and Jamie (from From Me To You) for a day and modeled a few of Jenni’s chic + simple-to-create projects, I can attest this book is a keeper.

In Jenni’s words: “The photography was shot by the FANTASTIC Jamie Beck from From Me to You and modeled by my favorite bloggers Jessica from What I Wore, Christine from My Style Pill, Kimberly from Eat Sleep Wear, and Alison Dahl Kelly from Dahl, Project Runway.

Dahl in the Huffington Post

Did you know that Dahl dresses are eco-friendly and produced in New York City’s garment district? Say hello to some more lovely eco-friendly party dresses in the Huffington Post.

I attended a filming of the Martha Stewart show recently which was quite entertaining. Are you told to dress in bright, festive colors? Clearly. Are you prompted to cheer and ooh and ahh? Clearly. Was she wearing the fiercest 5” nude platform wedges? Obviously.

My Book Is Out!

Above: 3 looks I designed + styled for the book, which you can make yourself…

My book is officially out (launch party tomorrow evening at Housing Works Bookshop) and I am in love with it! As Creative Director and co-author of The BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook, it was my goal to portray sewing in a new light and prove that with a bit of learning and practice, you can create your very own customized wardrobe. Don’t let trends or what’s available in your size dictate how you dress— create your own style and make it yourself!

Here’s a piece I wrote about how I began sewing & fashion design for Random House’s wonderful blog Books For Better Living

DIY | Fabric Covered Shoes a la Erdem

Ever since I saw the fabric covered shoes on Erdem’s S/S2010 runway I have been dying to make a pair for myself. It seemed like a difficult ordeal at first but the process was surprisingly easy, and so rewarding!

Liberty of London peacock printed cotton lawn fabric covered shoes by yours truly. I also made a tutorial for those shoe crazed savvy diy-ers.
